History of Chapter

The first organizational meeting was held on Monday April 12, 2010 at the Oxon Hill Library located at 6200 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland at 6:30 pm. The meeting was called to order by Rose Miller.



The forms were completed requesting the issuance of a Charter for the Prince George’s County (MD) Virginia State University Alumni Association (VSUAA).  All who are members of the National Alumni Association at the time the request is made would be Charter Members. Those attending the organization meeting were Joan Brown, Thomas Brown, Mary Grant, Sinthea Kelly, Ann Massenburg, Rose Miller, and Frances Suggs. Officers elected were President – Rose Miller, Treasurer – Frances Suggs, and Secretary – Joan Brown. National dues was collected from those in attendance (7) and from three who could not attend the meeting; Valerie Davis, Tawanda Rooney, and Stanley Kelly.



Sinthea Kelly volunteered to assist Rose Miller with the completion of the charter forms, collection of national dues,  and Rose Miller will take all the forms to VSU on April 17, 2010.  Also, it was agreed to accept dues from other VSU graduates until April 15, 2010 and include them as Charter Members.



Prince George’s County (MD) Virginia State University Alumni Association was granted a Charter at the national meeting of the VSUAA in May 2010. The Charter members of the Prince George’s County Maryland chapter of the Virginia State University Alumni Associations are:

The first meeting of the Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter of the Virginia State University Alumni Association was called to order on August 9, 2010. Officers elected for a two year term were:
